With all the protein bars out there, one brand, and one bar is currently dominating the market. That is Grenade. The range of Grenade Carb Killa Protein bars are amazing. Liked by almost all fitness enthusiast. The issue being is that with so many flavours, how do you know which ones you will like? Well, luckily for you, we went out a bought a load of them and have summed them up and reviewed them for you all. Giving you all the Macros, Calories and our personal opinion and rating for each bar. So let us kick off with the first Grenade Carb Killa on the list.
Jaffa Quake
Let us start with the Jaffa Quake bar. The flavour of this is amazing, the texture is amazing, just everything about this bar is perfect. I wouldn’t say it taste like Jaffa cakes, but it does remind you of them. There is a lovely filling, as you would expect it taste like Orange, but more like a tangy orange. As with most of the bars, You get lovely chunks of chocolate throughout the bar. The Macros are not that bad either. Fairly low fat and fairly low carbs. This is a bar you have to try out!

Dark Chocolate Raspberry
This bar is quickly becoming my new favourite out of them all. The flavour is just perfect, Even if you aren’t a Raspberry fan you might still enjoy this bar. There is a lovely raspberry flavour, that is strong but not overpowering, there are chunks of chocolate placed in the bar and the dark chocolate coatings help improves the flavour and doesn’t overpower anything. Overall this is a fantastic bar, not too sweet, but at the same time has a lot of flavour. This is a bar I will be trying again!

- Protein: 20.0g

Peanut Nutter
The peanut Nutter bar, I will be 100% honest with you all right out of the gates, this bar is up there as not only my favourite grenade bar but also my favourite protein bar out there! Goes perfectly with a cup of tea or coffee! The bars have pieces of actual peanut in them, so you get a strong and genuine peanut taste! It’s not like Reece’s Pieces, it’s more towards the side of actual peanuts.
The macros aren’t to bad, Due to the peanuts the fats are a higher side, but overall a solid bar and if you are a peanut fan, I would strongly recommend it.

Dark Chocolate Mint
Now I have tried this bar, but it isn’t a bar that I would go for. After trying it again, I do not understand why I don’t have it more! It tastes exactly like “After Eight” mints. The filling has the same texture as an After Eight. Same texture as the other bars, chunks of dark chocolate spread throughout the bar. An amazing, refreshing mint flavour! This bar is the perfect late-night snack with a coffee. Again, not my favourite bar, but one that I will be trying more.
Nutritional Information:
- Carbs: 13.6g
- Fats: 8.5g
- Protein: 22.1g
- Calories: 214kcal
- Rating: 4/5
Gingerbread
So, this is my first time trying the gingerbread flavour, And as a side warning I think this is a limited flavour, so don’t know how long it is going to hang around for. Let’s get straight to it. WOW! What a bar. The texture is pretty much the same as all the others, but the flavour? The flavour is amazing! You get a lovely Cinnamon/Gingerbread flavour, but not so much that it becomes overpowering. It doesn’t bloat you but is enough to fill you up as a light snack. This bar is a must-try! Macros are friendly as well!
Nutritional Information:
- Carbs: 15.5g
- Fats: 8.2g
- Protein: 22.8g
- Calories: 219kcal
- Rating: 5/5
Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough
The Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Grenade Protein Bar is the standard in the Grenade Carb Killa Bar line up. Soft, Chunks of chocolate in there. Huge chunks of chocolate throughout the bar, My only negative about this bar is you don’t get much “Cookie Dough” taste, there is another taste but it isn’t what I would say “cookie dough” taste like. I would say that if you haven’t tried any of the Grenade Bar range, then this is the one to start with, however, they have better bars out there to try.
Nutritional Information:
- Carbs: 16.9g
- Fats: 8.9g
- Protein: 20.3g
- Calories: 218kcal

White Chocolate Salted Peanut
This bar is fairly new, and straight out the gates I struggled to get hold of one! Anyway, I have tried it so can give my honest opinion.
If you are not a fan of white chocolate, put this bar bag on the shelf. The white chocolate is very strong, not subtle at all. It also has a very strong peanut taste (which is good as that is two of the main flavours), with chunks and pieces of peanut throughout the bar as well as chunks of white chocolate. All of this giving this bar an amazing texture.
I would describe the overall flavour as a white chocolate snickers, but a bit more salted. If that makes sense! If you like white chocolate, you you enjoy a snickers, this is the bar for you.
I do feel however, that the bar could get sickly if eaten quickly or often. The bar size is perfect for the flavour, anymore and it would get sickly. It is a very filling bar and is great for a snack or used as part of a meal replacement.

- Carbs: 19g
- Fats: 12g
- Protein: 20g

White Chocolate Salted Peanut
Now I think this bar is going after the Oreo and Milk flavour. If it is then it isn’t doing it right, I am not saying that it is a bad tasting bar, it is just a bit, what is the word? Basic? Kind of the “My First Flavour” of the Grenade bar line up. It is a Flavour that everyone will like, but I don’t think it is a flavour that is everyones go to.
It has the “Basic” cookie and cream flavour that other bars have. The same texture as all the other bars, fairly filling and also easy to eat, Doesn’t get “Gooey” or “Hard to sallow”
As said above, it isn’t a favourite of mine, not a bad flavour, but there are much better flavours in the line up, However, it does have amazing macros, calories are low, protein high and fats and fairly low.
Nutritional Information:
- Carbs: 13.6g
- Fats: 8.2g
- Protein: 23.3g
- Calories: 217kcal

Outro
The Highest calorie count is the Dark Chocolate Raspberry, It contains the highest amount of Fats and Carbs, and the lowest calorie count is Dark Chocolate Mint. Which is one of the highest protein bars, and fairly low on carbs. If you don’t have many calories to spare, I would suggest the Dark Chocolate Mint. Overall they are all around the 215 calorie mark unless you are being super strict on your calories, it doesn’t matter which Grenade Carb Killa you have. It all depends on the flavour. For us? The Jaffa Quake, but as we have said the Dark Chocolate Raspberry is quickly catching up.
If I had to list my favourite Grenade Carb Killa out of all these. I think it would look like this
- Jaffa Quake
- Gingerbread
- Dark Chocolate Raspberry
- Peanut Nutter
- Dark Chocolate Mint
- Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough
