INTRODUCTION
If you are tracking your calories/macros and find you still aren’t losing weight there could be a few things you are doing that are stopping your weight loss. This article is going to go over the typical issue that we find people have. We will explain the issue and also how you can go about fixing it and getting back on track.
So let us begin and go over a few of the things that we find a lot of people doing which may be stopping their progress. Starting with the one we have spoken about before but thought we would cover again.
NOT COUNTING SAUCES
We all enjoy sauces on our foods, Makes them taste nice! However, you have to be wise with your choice as some sauces (Mainly BBQ sauces) can contain a high amount of calories. As a single serving, it won’t be too bad, but if you aren’t careful and you are being generous with your portion sizes, it can quickly add up.
What do we recommend? well, either weigh out your sauces or look for a low calories option, Going for a low calorie or calorie-free option will save you hundreds of calories in the long run! Plus, you won’t have to worry about tracking them.
Check out these article:
STILL OVEREATING
This is most likely the main one! if you aren’t losing weight it might be because you are still eating too many calories. This could be for many reasons, Didn’t calculate correctly, not active enough (We will touch on this soon) or simple weighing your food wrong. Whatever reason it may be. If you are still overeating then you won’t be losing weight.
The main reason for overeating is snacking, and we aren’t about big snacks we are about little tiny snacks which add up. Grating cheese and nibbling on a bit, Only having a few biscuits, these kinds of things will add up those calories and could stop you from losing weight.
You could also be weighing your food wrong. A lot of people get confused about if they should weigh their food cooked or uncooked. It doesn’t matter which one you do. Just make sure that you do the right one. If you are weighing uncooked then make sure you input it as uncooked.
TRACKING BODY WEIGHT?
Are you tracking your body weight? If you are serious about weight loss and want to make it as easy for yourself as possible then you need to be keeping a log of your body weight (you can use our app to track your bodyweight). Not only will this let you see in numbers your weight loss, but also help you make corrections. If your weight loss stalls or goes up then you know to alter your calories.
Having a log is also a great motivation and planner tool. Motivation because you can see the numbers move but also you can plan it to see what you ate on certain days and also what you felt like and how full you were, Allowing you to more easily plan out your week.
OUTPUT NOT AS HIGH AS EXPECTED
The last thing that might be affecting your weight loss, is maybe your output isn’t as high as you thought? When you calculated your calories maybe you overestimated your output and how much “exercise” you do.
The easiest way to fix this is to lower your calories slightly until your weight starts to decrease (Or increase if that is what you are after). After that just keep an eye on your body weight and you can make adjustments as needed. The more you do it the easier it will become and you will soon be able to do it instinctively.
CONCLUSION
So there you have it! A few reasons why you might be finding that you still aren’t losing weight even though you are tracking! Hopefully, these have helped a few of you discover why you haven’t been making progress and help you correct it.
